Service and Assembly Department

George and Andy assembling a batch of engines for an OEM Our service and assembly department is staffed by five highly qualified mechanics to assure that quality service and warranty evaluation is available for all product lines that we distribute within the applicable geographic territories that we have been assigned by the manufacturer. If necessary, we can provide these services in our 4,000 square feet service department in Pittsburgh or at a customer location. More often, we rely upon our established dealer network to provide locally available service to end users. We support this dealer network in their efforts with training programs, factory service bulletins, sales calls, and technical assistance on the telephone.

This department also assembles over 5,000 engine power units each year to our customer's exact specifications. Additionally, we can provide our original equipment manufacturer customers with more complete subassembly services at competitive costs.

Engine Applications Engineering Support

Bob referring to a CAD drawing on John's PC This department is staffed by an engineer with extensive background and training in the application of internal combustion engines to power many different types of equipment. These services, in addition to the engineering support offered by the manufacturers that we represent, are available to our customers to help ascertain that the engines that they purchase from us will perform to the customer's satisfaction. This department is equipped with computer aided design capabilities.

Customer Education

Mark explaining some maintenance issues to Rebecca Pitt Auto Electric Company strongly believes that long-term customer satisfaction in the engine and outdoor power equipment industries can only be fully achieved when the products that we distribute are properly operated, maintained, and serviced. Therefore, both end-user and dealer education have a high priority with us.

For example, when we appoint a dealer to represent a product line that we distribute we assist that dealer by offering him or her the knowledge that is necessary to recommend the right product for the task and to maintain and repair the product properly. This knowledge is generally offered locally to the dealer in the form of technical update seminars that our qualified full-time educational director puts on in a series of different geographic venues. We also offer a more detailed and intensive course of technical education in our school room here in Pittsburgh.

Additionally, our service department staff, highly technical sales force, and customer service engineer are always available to assist our customer with technical advice. Finally, we are proud to sponsor and support many different educational and testing efforts offered to both dealers and end users through technical schools, professional seminars, and industry organizations such as the Outdoor Power Equipment and Engine Service Association (OPEESA).
