The next wave in. . . Liquid-Cooled Technology Kohler's Aegis liquid-cooled engine, available in 17, 20, 22, 23 and 25 hp models, offers an advanced cooling system to provide peak power and torque, improved fuel efficiency and quieter operation compared to traditional air-cooled small engines.

These new vertical-shaft, twin-cylinder engines, first unveiled at the 1999 International Lawn, Garden and Power Equipment Expo in Louisville, KY, combine a patented liquid-cooling design, heavy-duty air filtration system and many of the proven features of Kohler's air-cooled Command series.

Kohler's advanced parallel-flow cooling system provides superior engine cooling through a patented low profile heat exchanger. This state-of-the-art radiator enables the engine to run cooler by keeping oil temperatures low and running temperatures consistent. Oil life is extended and internal engine wear is reduced, increasing engine performance and reliability. The result is less maintenance and greater savings.

Aegis engines are perfect for unique OEM applications that demand a powerful engine with an integrated, compact design. The footprint of a Kohler Aegis engine is also interchangeable with that of the Command vertical twins, making it easier for OEMs to fit the new engine into existing applications.
