Pitt Auto Electric Company is pleased to be the Hydrogen Engine Center (HEC) Distributor for Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire and North Carolina. In addition to their work pioneering hydrogen-fueled industrial engines, HEC offers a direct replacement long-block for the discontinued Ford 4.9L 300 straight six engine.

Oxx Power Ford 4.9L Replacement

In 1996, Ford Motor Company stopped production of their 4.9L Inline 6-cyl engine. This came after a 33 year production run which had sent over 36 million engines into the field. When production ended, Ford had stockpiled what was intended to be an adequate supply for distributors and OEM’s well into the foreseeable future. In 2005, the last of these engines was loaded on the trucks and Ford was officially out of the 4.9L business.

The Oxx Power^TM 4.9 liter engine is designed to replace the discontinued Ford 300/4.9L six-cylinder, using a remanufactured long block, that is still being used in airport ground support equipment, highway vehicles, irrigation, power generation, wind machines and other industrial applications.
