This toothed belt is ideally suited for general industrial applications and OE drives, but for more than a decade it has been powering the supercharger drive systems on 300 mile-per-hour, high performance dragsters.

This year, Gates is sponsoring the 1999 top-fuel champion Schumacher Racing Team and driver Tony Schumacher. The Schumacher-Exide Batteries car recorded several notable achievements during the 1999 racing season, including the five best speeds in NHRA history, including a 330+mph quarter-mile run. This involvement in motorsports allows Gates to apply racing technology to the demands of its customers' heavy-duty industrial belt drives.
